Staff Notes

Georgia Department of Natural Resources - Environmental Protection Division has a grant program to assist local governments with recycling, waste reduction and diversion.  This program covers seventy-five (75%) percent of the project’s total cost.  The City’s application was selected for award.  The total cost to build the recycling center is $142,000.00.  The City of Powder Springs would contribute $35,000.00.  Georgia Department of Natural Resources - Environmental Protection Division would contribute $107,000.00.  Staff estimates that they will be able to complete the work by summer 2023.
