Purpose
To build a 8' screening fence on the subject property.

This subject property was annexed and rezoned to R-20 in 2021 per Ordinance 2021-005. This property was allowed to maintain its legal nonconforming status as a commercial operation. Applicant placed an application for a fence permit on January 8, 2026.
Applicant's request: Removal of 6-foot tall chain link fence (40 years old, rusty and falling apart), and replacement with a wooden privacy fence that is 8-feet tall.
Response to Applicant: Per Unified Development Code (UDC) Sec. 4-135, Table 4-1, an 8-ft tall fence is not permitted within the R-20 zoning district.

A maximum fence height of 6 feet is permitted on the subject property per UDC. Fence materials and the design of fence are permitted. Mr. Taylor's fence materials will be weather treated wood. Mr. Taylor would prefer to install a 8-foot fence for screening purposes due to the quantity of materials on subject property. Mr. Taylor is surrounded by residential buildings on all sides of his property. Applicant also has a 25 foot HOA Buffer.
