Rezoning - Map Amendment - Downtown Development Overlay

Recommendation:
To adopt the Zoning Map amendment to show that the Downtown Development Overlay consistent with the Urban Redevelopment Area and LCI boundary.
Background:
The existing Downtown Development Overlay zoning district originally created as all properties within the 2016 Livable Centers Initiative application is being amended to follow the Urban Redevelopment Area and 2016 Livable Centers Initiative Application. The downtown development overlay was adopted in October 19, 2020.
Analysis:
By expanding this area, the City will be able to review development for consistency with the Urban Redevelopment Plan, the LCI plan and the Comprehensive Plan.
This zoning map amendment is consistent with Ordinance 2021-004 which amends the boundaries of the Downtown Development Overlay Boundary.
This application was advertised in the Marietta Daily Journal on January 29, 2021. Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed this request at their February 11, 2021 meeting.
