Resolution to sign a MOU with both Carfax and National Insurance Crime Bureau for the police department for purposes of investigations into vehicle theft and fraud related to vehicle theft.

Staff Notes

Entering into these MOU’s will provide new avenues for the police department in investigating stolen vehicles and fraud related to vehicle theft and vehicle recovery. Carfax will provide information they collect to the police department in exchange for the police department supplying Carfax with accident report data for their purposes.

ISO Claim (National Insurance Crime Bureau) will also disseminate information related to insurance crime and fraud for the benefit of NICB member companies, law enforcement, regulatory authorities and the general public.
